Supervision & Therapy Services
What is Supervision?
Supervision is a professional relationship that focuses on strengthening skills and growth as a clinician. The goal is for the “supervisor to facilitate the development of the therapeutic competence in the supervisee" (Ladany, Hill, Corbett, Nutt, 1996).
My personal goal as a supervisor is to help you navigate the world of counseling and aid in your development as a well rounded clinician.
I use an eclectic based approach in supervision with emphasis on three didactic roles in assisting you: teacher, counselor and consultant. This means, that through the course of the supervision relationship I will take on the role of teacher to provide you with information, counselor to help you understand the cognitions behind your interventions as well as raise awareness of the therapeutic process, and consultant in which you will utilize me to help develop your own conceptualizations and plans.
